Homemade spray for aphids. Cheap and effective

Have you looked at tree leaves or leaves of other plants yet? If the answer is yes, then chances are that you have seen aphids. These ubiquitous creatures spell trouble for any gardener. And no wonder. If you ignore aphids and give them time to create large colonies they can destroy your plants very quickly – just like large colonies of ants. The bad news is that it is quite difficult to get rid of them especially, if you do not want to use chemical cocktails. Well, this time why don’t you try a very simple spray that you can make yourself.

Homemade spray

You will only need two ingredients. Water and dishwashing liquid. How plain and simple, right? You certainly have a dishwashing liquid at home. So, mix the dishwashing liquid with water – you can do it the spray bottle.

How much dishwashing liquid should you use?

It doesn’t really matter how much detergent goes into the spray bottle. Ideally, only a few drops. Dishwashing liquids foam a lot, which is good for the effectiveness.

Spraying

Use a pressurized spray bottle because it is much faster. We did. You may repeat spraying if necessary. Make sure you don’t do it before rain, because everything will be washed away. Do not spray too much or too often before harvest.
