Try herbs to fight Lyme diseases
The number of people infected with a Lyme disease has been increasing in Europe. There is currently no vaccine for humans. Lyme disease is transmitted not only by ticks but also by other blood-sucking insects. We used to see the highest number of ticks in the summer, but now you can find ticks from early spring to autumn. Lyme disease is very dangerous and can lead to the development of many other serious problems. Antibiotics are not the only treatment though. You may also try an unconventional approach which is also very effective. The herb approach.
Lyme disease
Lyme disease is a infectious disease caused by Borrelia, nejčastěji Borreliaburgdorferi, Borreliagarinii a Borreliaafzelii. The common tick is the most common carrier and it is responsible for the vast majority of the disease spread. Ticks at all development stages parasitize on humans as well as on animals and they can spread the disease easily. The probability of infection is directly proportional to the time a tick is sucking your blood. There are other blood-sucking carriers that can spread the disease, such as mosquitoes or black flies.

Untreated Lyme disease may develop into a chronic disease
The incubation period is in the order of days or weeks at the most. Initial symptoms begin to appear during this time but you may not notice. “The vast majority, more than half of infected people, will see a red spot around the bite spot. Other, less common symptoms include fever, chills, fatigue or general weakness,” says a well-known herbalist Jarmila Podhorná from the Naděje company. If left untreated, Lyme disease becomes a chronic infection and the bad news is that the infected person may develop other diseases including problems with immunity, chronic inflammation of the brain, nervous system or musculoskeletal system problems. Lyme disease very negatively affects the musculoskeletal system. Symptoms are similar to rheumatoid arthritis – pain in the spine and joints, stiffness, painful swelling or growths on joints. Borreliosis can also cause chronic fatigue syndrome or multiple sclerosis.
Antibiotics help but only to a certain degree
Due to serious health complications caused by the Lyme disease, it is important to start treatment as soon as possible. The treatment usually starts with antibiotics taken approximately for 3 weeks during the early stages of the disease. If the treatment fails to work or if the person fails to see a doctor for a long time after the infection, the patient needs to be hospitalized and antibiotics infusion treatment is necessary. Fortunately, the disease is not fatal, but the symptoms are severe and chronic, often incapacitating the infected person for a long time and my even lead to disability. Early treatment is absolutely necessary. If treated in the initial stage, there is around 90% chance of successful recovery, but the recovery of chronic forms is only around 30%.

Herbal help – poplar buds cleanse the body of viruses and bacteria
In addition to antibiotics, there is an alternative herbal treatment which is often performed as an additional therapy. Given the infectious origin of this disease, the important thing is to start cleansing the body of unwanted viruses and bacteria. “In the case of Lyme disease, a tincture from poplar buds or bark works well; these remedies are effective against Lyme disease. An important part of the herbal treatment includes a proper regeneration of the weakened patient. A combination of a tincture made of birch and juniper buds works well in this regards. Birch gemmotherapy cleanses the body and juniper buds help with liver regeneration,” says herbalist Mgr. Jarmila Podhorná.
Another recommended herb treatment to fight Lyme disease includes a mixture of pine buds, black currants and grapevines. These herbs supply important trace elements to the muscles and bones, stimulate adrenal glands and have an anti-inflammatory effect. Here is a link where you will find a quick advice compiled by Mgr. Podhorná herbal treatment (K24).
It also supports the body’s resistance to unfavourable external stimuli and it also contains antioxidants, protects against oxygen radicals, and supports detoxification processes in the body. When the basic herbal treatment is completed, Mgr. Podhorná recommends using kúru pokračující (K24A), which supports blood circulation, strengthens natural body defences and supports the immune system. It also protects the liver from negative effects of toxic substances and helps maintain natural functions in balance.
