Problems growing champignons at home?
You bought a champignon grow kit with the hope of a great harvest. Even multiple harvests…Well, that is what you should expect, right? Well if you provide proper care you should be able to do that, but people often make mistakes and mushrooms hardly grow at all. If you want to grow mushrooms at home, read on. We shall tell you about the most common mistakes.
Buying a kit that will not grow
First, you need to check the seller who is trying sell you the product. You should definitely be suspicious about very cheap e-shops. You should buy a mushroom kit in a regular store, but to maintain mycelium in good conditions, the seller must take care of it too. Mushroom kits displayed in windows for a long time may not be in good condition. Sometimes mushrooms are already growing in windows but sometimes they are completely dried.

Mycelium and soil mixing
This is the first mistake but luckily, is not that bad. When you are doing the necessary preparation work, do not forget to disturb the mycelium and then you pour soil on top. This is done so everything joins together well. If you skip this step, mushrooms may not grow at all.
Insufficient watering as the main problem
That’s right. Many people buy a mushroom grow kit, prepare everything correctly but fail to take care of it properly. Mushrooms are mainly composed of water, and they need plenty of water to grow. A good idea is to wrap the box in a plastic wrap and water and mist it thoroughly every day. Press on the soil and you have to be able to squeeze out some water. That way you know that mushrooms have sufficient amount of moisture and should grow well. Mushrooms are not crazy about light, but they need enough light. Be careful about growing mushrooms outdoors. If flies can get into the box you will have mushrooms with plenty of worms .
