Baking grandpa’s homemade bread is easy and the result is excellent

Bread

Hate going to the supermarket? Do you want to avoid shopping for as long as possible or you just prefer using homemade products? Either way, you can produce many things right at home. A typical example is a homemade bread. Have you ever taken a closer look at the label of a commercial bread label and actually read what they contain? We all know that they contain many artificial substances, which are bodies don’t like. If you bake your own bread, you will at least know that you only used the best ingredients you could get and that your bread will taste great and last a longer. All homemade products are simply better.

Few ingredients is all you need

The most important is yeast, which you can get rather easily these days, but stores often carry only few pieces and they sell fast. Here are the other needed ingredients but you should have at home. Here we go:

A simple recipe

Many people are still not sure whether they can bake their own bread at home. No worries, anyone can do it. Start with flour, or rather by mixing plain and wholemeal flour together and then by adding salt, cumin, flax and sunflower seeds. Now, you put the yeast in lukewarm water, mix it and add it in the mixture … and knead and knead. This is a rather demanding process and you should knead until you get the loaf looking as the real thing. It will be sticky, but that doesn’t matter. Let the bowl with the dough to rise for about 1.5 hour. After a while you should be able to see the dough rising….When done, create the final loaf using your hands. Place it on a baking sheet and let it rise for another 20 minutes. Heat the oven to 230 degrees Celsius and put a cup of water in the oven together with the bread to make sure that there is enough moisture. Bake the bread at 230 degrees Celsius in hot air mode for 10 minutes, then terminate the hot air mode and bake for 30 minutes at 180 degrees.

What to watch out for?

The most important thing is to give the dough a sufficient time to rise. Do not rush anything. Next, you should also watch out for overbaking. If you overbake, your bread will be hard. It should still taste great, but you would have hard time to cut it. So, we wish you the best of luck and no fear. You can also check out our video.
