Let us get to work

Cut onion in half lengthwise, including the skin. Take one half and rub it on the grill surface. Pretty easy, right? Do this for a few seconds or a minute until the onion releases juice and a gooey liquid forms on the grill surface itself. This is a mix of onion juice and dried dirt. Now, remove this gooey liquid from the surface and you are done.

The best way to remove the gooey liquid is to use a paper towel. Use the half onion as much as you can as you will destroy it and you need to throw it away.
