Preserve tomatoes without salt and vinegar

Tomatoes

Do you love tomatoes and want to enjoy the great taste even when they are no longer growing in your garden? Of course you want that, but buying tomatoes in supermarkets is not the right way to go. You need to preserve your own tomatoes as best as you can. There are many ways to do that such as canning, drying or making ketchup for example. There is another simple solution and you will hardly need any special ingredients.

This method makes tomatoes last for up to 2 years

Yes, it is true and they will taste and smell just like fresh tomatoes. So, you need tomatoes (obviously), water and glass jars. You will not need vinegar or salt.

Preparation

First, wash tomatoes thoroughly. You need to get rid of any dirt or impurities. You also need to remove the stems and any green parts. Now cut tomatoes and put them in a pot and pour water in. Cover with a lid and cook slowly, stir occasionally.

Get a second pot, and put whole tomatoes in and pour hot water in. Let it sit for a while and peel the skin. When done, put tomatoes in clean, sterilized jars.

Tomatoes in the first pot are fully cooked by now. Strain the mixture through a very fine cloth. You need a clean and strained juice. Pour this juice into the jars with whole tomatoes. Close jars or glasses tightly and put them in a pot with hot water. Cover with a lid and let it sit until it cools down. When done, store jars in a cool place. Tomatoes preserved in this way should last for up to two years.
