Peace lily failed to bloom? Here is how to wake it up
Spathiphyllum is a plant that produces interestingly shaped flowers. These flowers grow upright and are usually white. It is hard to overlook flowers like that. They “stick out” from dark green leaves and are hard to miss. This plant is attractive even without flowers, but the truth is that people grow this plant for its flowers and sometimes peace lilies may be little bit stubborn and fail to bloom. Well, if that is the case, is here anything you can do? Of course. Providing that the plant seems healthy, there are certain measures you can take to get it bloom.
Location
When a peace lily stops blooming it is usually when you moved it to a new location. Lilies can deal with a new location, but the new location must provide the right conditions. Too much shade or not enough light are usually to blame. Try placing the plant in a brighter spot butbe careful no direct sunlight. Too much sunlight can burn leaves. Choose a spot with diffused light.

Incorrect watering
The problem may also be caused by irregular watering, and especially too wet or too dry soil. If you forgot watering, you may tend to water more to make up for it and use too much water. Monitor the condition of the soil. As soon as the top layer is dry, it is time to water. Water more frequently but in smaller amounts. Roots cannot be soaked in water. If you watered too much you need to act. Remove the plant from the pot and carefully remove all soil from roots. If you notice rotten roots, remove them. Apply fungicide to the root ball and change the substrate. Repot and do not water for a while.
Fertilization may also be problem
Peace lilies needs nutritious soil and you should fertilize regularly but here we go again. Too much fertilizer may be dangerous as well as not enough and wrong type of fertilizer may be a problem too and your plant may fail to bloom. You must chose a fertilizer designed for flowering plants and apply it according to instructions on the bag.. More fertilizer does not mean more flowers!
Transplanting at the wrong time
Peace lily needs a well-developed root system to flower and therefore you may want to transplant it into a larger pot. However, if you transplant in a pot that is too large you may slow down flowering. You will not hurt the plant but peace lily will focus on the root system and then on flowering.Transplanting should not be too frequent. It is generally recommended to transplant in the spring, if necessary – but not more than once every two to three years.
