Dog’s fleas and how to get rid of them
Fleas are very unpleasant and do not attack your pets only. Keep in mind that prevention is always better than cure. You should always buy special collars in spring and protect them from these parasites. If you dog is scratching hard you know that it has been attacked by fleas. You can also find flea droppings in the dog’s fur – small black dots.
Give your dog a bath
The first aid is to bathe your dog thoroughly and use special shampoos that are designed to fight fleas. Your veterinarian can recommend a special one or you can buy a regular shampoo in any pet stores. Plain water can also help but you need to add a little dishwashing liquid. This should help you to remove adult fleas. Collars are used more as a prevention, but you can also give it to a dog already infected with fleas. Try to combine both but put the collar on the dog only when the fur is dry.

Combing
Fleas can be combed out too but you need a fine comb (special flea combs are available in pet stores). You can dip the comb in water with detergent, which makes combing more effective. In addition to adult fleas and droppings, the comb can also remove eggs. If you find a flea or an egg on the comb, quickly dip it in the mixture to kill them.
Kill fleas with vinegar
Instead of expensive products you can use a mixture of apple cider vinegar and water. Fleas do not like the smell of apple cider vinegar and will avoid your pet’s fur. Mix vinegar with water in a ratio of 1:5 and spray it on your pet’s fur. As soon as you get rid of fleas you need to apply preventative measures! You do not want to deal with this problem again. Check your dog regularly, comb hair using a regular comb but also use a special flea comb at least once a week.
