Get rid of excessive humidity in your cellar.
You do not want too much humidity in your cellar but if you see drops of water on walls, you have a problem and you need to fix it and if you notice an unpleasant musty smell on top of it, you need to take an immediate action because it will only get worse. Here is what you should do. Remove all unnecessary things from the cellar. Take shelves, racks, etc. outside and let them dry. They will dry much faster outside. Disinfect the entire cellar.
To be on the safe side, you should treat all spaces where you want to store vegetables with a copper sulphate solution. Open all windows and ventilate the cellar thoroughly. Do this until the smell of dampness disappears. Containers with charcoal and salt placed around rooms will help. These substances are natural moisture absorbers and they work well. Do not forget to replace these substances regularly.
The right place to store vegetables
It should be located outside in a shady area. Never leave potatoes in tight bags. Best if you use wooden boxes with holes to ensure natural air circulation. Treat storage areas with potassium permanganate, which should handle all pathogens.

Do not forget floors. If you have a clay floor, install wooden planks on top. If you do not have wood, sprinkle sawdust on top, which also absorbs excess moisture and protects stored crops.
