Breaded cauliflower made easy
Many people only eat this popular dish at restaurants because they think breading and frying is a time-consuming process and no one has the time these days. Right? Well, we shall show you a few tricks to save time and effort.
Preparatory work
Ingredients:
- precooked cauliflower florets
- plain flour
- 2 eggs (or more)
- milk
- breadcrumbs
- oil
- salt

Make crispy cauliflower fast
- If necessary, divide florets into smaller pieces.
- Put them in a bowl, add salt and sprinkle with flour. Shake the bowl until florets are coated. Elegant and fast.
- Break eggs into a deep bowl, add a bit of salt and milk and beat them.
- Pour enough breadcrumbs into a wider bowl.
- Pour oil into a saucepan (about 10 cm high) and turn the heat on. While the oil is getting hot you do the breading. Florets will float and will soak up less oil and the oil will not splatter like when you use a frying pan, which means less cleaning. You may use a deep fryer if you have one.
- Now pour florets in the egg bowl and mix and turn them. Use a fork or slotted spoon to transfer them to the breadcrumb bowl.
- Shake rigorously until florets are well-coated. You can also use a plastic bag, but the bowl method is faster. Now you have coated florets without getting your finger sticky.
- Transfer the coated florets into the hot oil. This way, the breadcrumbs will not get soggy and will not absorb that much oil.
- Fry until golden brown and remove with a slotted spoon. Place florets on a paper towel to drain the excess of fat.
- Serve immediately with boiled potatoes and tartar sauce, or with mashed potatoes and vegetable salad. Bon appetite!
