Apricot marmalade is awesome but apricot dip is even better
Apricot harvest is in full swing and many people have already harvested or bought apricots to make all those wonderful and traditional products such as apricot marmalade, jam and similar goodies. Another great option is the irresistible apricot cake, rice pudding and classic apricot dumplings. Great! This year try preparing something else. How does an apricot meat dip sound for change? We have made a spicy and not spicy dip and both are great.
Buy good quality apricots
Always try to buy apricots from sellers you know or from sellers that come from South Moravia and other regions where apricots have been grown for many centuries. Apricots should be ripe enough, which means they should be on the soft side because you want them as sweet as possible. You do not want to add unnecessary sugar. We have bought apricots from a vendor who had a nice stand in South Moravia. Taste apricots before you buy them.

Only few ingredients
Yes, you need only few ingredients to make an apricot dip. The most important part are well-ripen and soft apricots. You also need a cane sugar and cinnamon and that is it. The taste and aroma of the apricots is delicious enough so you hardly need anything else.

Apricot dip recipe
First, wash apricots thoroughly and remove all stones. Put them in a pot and cook until soft and mushy. Use a hand blender and blend well. Create a nice smooth purée and taste it. If it is not sweet enough for you may add sugar. Do not forget to add cinnamon because it is a very important. You will need a small teaspoon of cinnamon. Mix it and taste it. It should be awesome already. Bring the mixture to a boil and pour it into glasses while it is still very hot. Use a ladle. Close tightly and turn glasses upside down. We made four glasses. If you want to make a spicy dip add Jolokhia Bhut pepper. We did and served it with a grilled brie cheese. Check the picture. It looks very appetizing and exotic at the same time, doesn’t it?
