Why do dogs bark?
If you think that dogs bark to communicate (with humans or other dogs) well, you may not be hundred percent right. There are many other things dogs use to communicate. You can tell what mood your dog is by looking at its tail, ears and the sound it may makes. In addition to barking, dogs howl which means they are bored or worried. Dogs can also howl when they are afraid or in pain. So, what about barking?
Why do dogs bark?
The general answer is that a dog barks to communicate with its surroundings. However, it is not true that barking is mainly negative or a warning such as: do not come near me!Dog breeders know well that a dog barks not only out of fear and as a warning, but also when it wants attention. If dog wants to go for a walk it may bark or when it is happy, for example when playing with its master. A dog may bark to express needs, for example, that it needs to go outside.

Guess what your dog is telling you
Experienced dog owners know what their dog barking means. Those of you who are less experienced need to spend more time with your dog to understand what your dog is trying to say. Once you understand this dog language, you can train your dog better. For example, if your dog barks to get your attention because it is bored, do not react immediately because it may learn that you come immediately every time it barks and it could become your master.
Barking in fear
Some dogs bark out of fear and at things they do not know or are afraid of. It could be a passing car or something noisy. If a dog barks out of fear, you should respond immediately and try to calm it down. Some dogs will calm down if you tell them calmly that everything is okay. Some needs petting and calm talk. It is best to calm your dog at a place where the source of the dog’s fear is not present.
Barking from loneliness
Barking due to loneliness is very unpleasant, especially for your neighbours. When you leave your dog at home alone, it will start barking and howlingand this may be very annoying for your neighbours. Can you do something about it? A good idea is to train your dog to be alone early. When it is still a puppy. Sometimes it is enough to leave favourite toys at home, leave music or the TV on, or leave some clothing so, the dog can smell your scent. If none of these methods work, you can train with treats. Leave the house and return after a few minutes. If your dog has not barked, reward it with treats.
