We don’t pull weeds much anymore. A homemade remedy gets rid of them for us

The battle against weeds is practically endless. We’ve all had our share of experiences with them, and we’d love to use a remedy that could eliminate weeds once and for all. Unfortunately, not even the best magician can manage that. That’s why we often try to pull out all the weeds and throw them in the garden waste bins. Often, though, all it takes is making your own simple spray that will take care of the weeds. How do you make it? Very simply. All we needed were a few basic ingredients we had at home.

A great spray for weeds in paving

Weeds in paving can be removed by hand, or we can buy a chemical product. But making your own is ideal. We can prepare such a solution in a very simple way. We’ll need these ingredients:

– 4 liters of vinegar,

– 250 g of salt,

– 1 teaspoon of dish soap.

Mix everything together and then fill a spray bottle with the mixture. Once sprayed with this homemade solution, the weeds won’t stand a chance of surviving. They’ll wither, and then you can simply sweep them away.

Various types of mulch

Weeds can also be controlled using various types of mulch. The classics are primarily straw and wood chips. But we can also use grass clippings. Many have already tried cardboard boxes. Of course, the eco-friendly ones without stickers or plastic. Simply cut them into individual sheets and place them on the surface, for example around tomato plants. After watering, they will gradually break down and effectively prevent weed growth.

Boiling water is often sufficient as well

Undoubtedly. Just boil some water in an electric kettle. Nothing complicated. Then pour it directly onto the weeds in the pavement. Thanks to the high temperature, the plants cannot survive. However, we can only use hot water in places where we know we won’t damage other plants. If we also sprinkle cornmeal in those spots, the weeds won’t grow back.
