All it takes is two ingredients and the mice will disappear. You’re bound to have them at home

Nobody wants mice in their home. But if they’ve taken up residence in your compost heap, or perhaps in the cellar or elsewhere, it’s definitely worth getting rid of them quickly. There are, of course, plenty of options, and many people start with traditional poisons, which are available in various household goods shops and supermarkets. In any case, it’s worth opting for home remedies, which are both cheap and readily available. There are several alternatives to choose from. We’ll take a closer look at them, starting by focusing on a combination of two common household items.

Washing powder and toothpaste will do the trick

Who doesn’t have toothpaste and washing powder at home? Naturally, we can’t manage our dental hygiene without these essentials. The process of making a homemade mouse repellent is by no means complicated. Spoon a tablespoon of washing powder into a bowl and add some toothpaste. Simply adjust the amount so that you end up with a thick enough mixture to shape into small balls. Place these where mice are most likely to be found.

Bicarbonate of soda and sugar

Kitchen ingredients that we also have at home. You can also use these to make a remedy to drive mice away. Specifically, you’ll need:

– 1 cup of sugar,

– 1 cup of bicarbonate of soda,

– 1 cup of cornflour.

Mix the cornflour with the sugar and bicarbonate of soda. Create a perfectly loose mixture that will act as the perfect trap for all rodents. The reasons are quite simple. The sugar attracts the mice perfectly, as they are drawn to the sweet taste. The bicarbonate of soda kills them. Once they’ve eaten it, they can’t digest it.

Tip: Homemade mouse repellent. Just a few drops and they’re gone.

A plastic bottle filled with oil works too

We’re sure to have these two items for making a mouse trap to hand at home. Specifically, we’ll need one standard plastic bottle and roughly 150 ml of any vegetable oil. Pour the specified amount of oil into the bottle. Although a mouse can get inside despite the narrow neck, it won’t be able to get out again. To improve the results, it’s a good idea to add a piece of cheese or some other bait to the oil.
