Do you have yellow cucumbers? Fertilizer to the rescue
Yellow cucumbers start to appear at the end of summer, simply because it is not the best time for cucumbers or tomatoes. It is not surprising that around this time the vast majority of fruits or vegetables such as tomatoes or cucumbers, come from overseas, where temperatures are higher and the overall conditions are better.
Cucumbers are no exception. The closer to the end of summer, the more problems these plants have. At this point, you have probably destroyed most of your cucumber beds and the remaining plants are turning yellow and wilting. If you still want to save them, you can try our rescue method that our grandmothers used. Well, we cannot guarantee that it will work hundred percent for you but you need to try it. Anyway, at this point you have nothing to lose.

Spray with baking soda
Many people think that using baking soda will help yellow cucumbers and rightly so. Mix three tablespoons of baking soda in 1litre of water and spray it on cucumbers every second or third day. This remedy alone may not be enough. You also need to invest into a good fertilizer. Here is an idea.
Fertilize cucumbers with ash and vinegar
Ash in general, is great for cucumbers and wood ash is best as it contains everything cucumbers need. Great but, you need to “activate” the ash a little and that is where vinegar comes in. Pour 1 glass of wood ash and one glass of vinegar into a ten-litre bucket and mix well.
Add water to the top and let it rest for at least 12 hours and dilute everything with additional 30 litres of water. Take a watering can and water as usual. Make sure the water is warm and settled. You do not want cucumbers to suffer a temperature shock. Repeat every third day. After two weeks, if it works well, reduce the frequency to once every other day.
