Dog breeds that hate to be alone

Dogs

Well, there is no dog that is happy when his owner goes to work, but the good news is that there are breeds that can deal better with solitude than others. Certain dog breeds are more sociable than others and social dogs are friendlier to visitors, which may be good, but they will have a much harder time to stay home alone. Some dogs downright hate being alone. If you must spend a lot of time away from your home (and you cannot take your dog with you), do not get any of the following breeds.

Australian shepherd

A very smart dog that loves to learn new things. It can learn many commands and it is pretty easy to train, partly because it is a very sociable breed. It loves spending time with its owner. It also likes long walks and will try to make you happy no matter what. It loves exercise and company. Naturally, if you leave Australian shepherd home alone for a long time, it can have negative effect on his mental and even physical condition.

American pit bull terrier

Although this dog may seem a bit intimidating at first glance, it is a very empathetic and sociable animal and it will be very unhappy without its owner. This can also have negative impact on his mental and physical condition. If you leave American pit bull terrier alone for a long time, it may take a “revenge” and destroy your apartment. It may even become excessively aggressive.

Chihuahua

This tiny dog loves company. It is a very small dog which allows you to take it almost anywhere where dogs are not allowed. If you leave Chihuahua alone for long, you may experience behavioural problems. Although Chihuahua is a small dog, it loves movement and exercise.

French bulldog

French bulldogs are cute little dogs with a short snout/muzzle. They love to go for walks and get along well with other dogs. They are family dogs and love company, especially children. Just like Chihuahua, you can take them almost anywhere with you and of course, they hate being alone.

Fox Terrier

Fox terriers are very intelligent dogs and love their owners very much. Naturally, they want to be with their owners at all times. They are great cuddling dogs and love long walks. A loneliness can turn Fox terrier into a devil. So, if you cannot devote plenty of time to this breed, think twice before getting it.
