Get rid of ants using natural and cheap methods
Ants are very useful creatures, but if you have too many of them, especially in your garden, you may not be happy at all. Ants often live in symbiosis with aphids and they may be a disaster. Unfortunately, this year we see a lot of aphids everywhere, even on mature fruit trees. Well, the good news is that you can get rid of ants and you do not have to resort to chemicals right away. First, choose natural products that can work very well. Read on and you shall learn how.
Coffee grounds
Do not throw away coffee groundsand use any leftovers to get rid of ants. Simply spread coffee grounds where ants gather. You should sprinkle the grounds right after you finish your coffee because the fresh smell and the acidity repel ants better.
Lavender
Lavender is not exactly appealing to ants. You may plant lavender at suitable spots where you often see ants. It even works dry but you may also try using essential oil that you can drop into a diffuser. Sachets with dried lavender also work well.

Cinnamon
We like the smell of cinnamon but ants do not. Place pieces of whole cinnamon in different areas where you see ants.Cinnamon will interrupt their paths and that is it. Ants will not gather there anymore. You may also pour ground cinnamon into bowls and place them indoors or outdoors.
Basil
Ants do not like the beautiful and intoxicating scent of basil either. Just few leaves spread around should do the trick.

Regular chalk
Do you remember drawing pictures on concrete sidewalks with chalk when you were kids? Now you can repeat it. Ants do not like chalk. Simply draw lines where ants gather and they will gather no more.
Lemon and vinegar
Ants hate acidity. Cut lemon into slices and spread them where ants usually hang out. You may also mix vinegar and water in one to one ratio and spray it where ants gather.
