Pruning is important, but do not over do it. If you grow cucumbers in an open space, only remove leaves, side shoots and flowers up to a height of 30 cm. The same applies if you grow in a greenhouse, but up to a height of 50 cm, otherwise let the plant grow and let it reach the highest point. It will grab support and climb higher and higher. When it climbs to the top, you can clip it. Cucumbers gain the necessary strength quickly and grow well and you should be able to harvest until autumn.
