Mice will vanish in a flash. All you need for a homemade repellent is spices and vinegar
None of us wants rodents in the house. But setting various traps and poisons around the house isn’t exactly everyone’s favourite pastime either. That’s why it’s worth using natural remedies against mice – they’re effective, and there’s no need to worry about any effects on human health or that of your pets. In the following lines, we’ll look at an excellent home remedy that you can easily make yourself and that will cost you almost nothing apart from a little time.
Rosemary, cinnamon and cloves: the holy trinity
Making this rodent repellent is by no means complicated. All you need are the three spices mentioned above and a few other ingredients. Specifically, you’ll need:
– 2 tablespoons of dried rosemary,
– 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon,
– 15 cloves,
– 300 ml of vinegar.
These basic ingredients are found in most kitchens here, and I’m sure they’ll find a place in yours too. You’ll be using them for something other than cooking or baking, though.
Tip: Old tricks against mice? No problem.
Making the repellent is quick, but you’ll have to wait a while before you can use it
That’s right. Making a mouse repellent from these ingredients isn’t particularly difficult. You simply need to mix them together in a bowl with a lid. Then all you have to do is wait 20 days. Once this time has passed, strain the mixture and pour it into a spray bottle.

Why this particular repellent?
The reason is quite simple. Rodents really can’t stand the smell of this particular spice. They’d rather avoid places with these odours. What’s more, the repellent is entirely natural and won’t harm anyone in the household. The spice smells pleasant and even masks the traditional pungent smell of vinegar.
Where should you use this effective mixture?
Ideally, spray the mixture in areas where you’ve noticed the presence of mice and other rodents. However, it also works on ants and cockroaches. Traditionally, you’d spray around doors, in hallways, as well as in sheds and garages. This prevents rodents from entering places where we don’t want them.
