Beautiful geraniums on the balcony or in a window are undoubtedly a staple in many homes. Geraniums are beautiful flowers that can further enhance the appearance of a home. However, it’s not always possible to grow them so that they bloom throughout the entire year. Above all, it requires knowledge about how to grow them. We tried a little trick that should help geraniums bloom for a long time throughout the entire season. All we needed was ordinary yeast. We’ll also offer advice on repotting geraniums, among other things.

New shoots must be pinched back

Definitely. If you see soft new shoots on the plant, you need to pinch them back. The lower buds will then begin to sprout much faster, and new shoots will form. Some gardeners recommend pinching off the first flower buds as well, so the geranium doesn’t become overly exhausted. The ideal approach is then to propagate your own seedlings using Celaskon. It’s not complicated at all, as we’ll show you in the following lines.

Propagating New Geranium Seedlings

To propagate new geranium seedlings, we’ll need the following items:

– geranium cuttings,

– Celaskon,

– 250 ml of water,

– a substrate designed for geraniums,

– a small flower pot.

First and foremost, we need to obtain those geranium cuttings. We can take them at any time of the year, though the ideal time is before summer. Success is virtually guaranteed at this time. The cuttings need plenty of sunlight and a warm spot. Take the mother plant and make a clean cut just above a leaf node. The plant will heal very quickly. Trim the cutting where the leaves meet.

What to do before rooting?

No growth stimulant is needed to root the cuttings. Still, we’ll make our own. Dissolve a Celaskon tablet in 250 ml of water. Submerge the cuttings in the mixture for a few minutes. Vitamin C acts as an excellent growth stimulant, and after about 3 weeks, the plant should be ready for transplanting.

The right conditions for geraniums

These are undoubtedly very important as well. Geraniums should never have completely dry soil. But be careful not to overwater them. They also need plenty of light and warmth. They can bloom all year round. They make a real show even in a winter garden during the winter.

Yeast Elixir for Geraniums

It’s the ideal flowering booster. To make it, we needed 3 liters of settled water, 3 tablespoons of sugar, and 100 g of yeast. We dissolved everything and let it sit in a container covered with a cloth. After a while, bubbles appeared, which was a sign that it was ready. We mixed 1 cup of fertilizer with 10 liters of settled water. We watered the geraniums with this elixir once every 14 days.
