Fertilizing cucumber seedlings in May. We have a great homemade remedy
Cucumbers are a must-have crop in any garden. Whether we plant pickling cucumbers, regular salad cucumbers, or snake cucumbers—it doesn’t matter at all. We’re almost guaranteed a harvest. But if we use certain household ingredients, we can prepare an excellent fertilizer that can boost our yield even further. The cucumbers will be bigger, juicier, and we’ll harvest many more of them.
Great homemade fertilizer for cucumbers
Preparing it isn’t complicated at all, and we have most of the ingredients at home. We’ll need the following:
– 1 liter of warm water,
– 1 tablespoon of dry yeast,
– 1 tablespoon of sugar.
Pour the warm water into a one-liter container. Slowly add the tablespoon of dry yeast and the sugar. Mix everything thoroughly. This starts a reaction that activates the yeast. Then set the mixture aside in a place where it won’t be exposed to direct sunlight. However, warmth is definitely desirable, so don’t put it in the fridge or pantry. Let the mixture rest for about 2 hours.
Diluting the mixture is important
Once the specified time has elapsed, you need to mix the mixture thoroughly and dilute it with 5 liters of water. The water should not be cold either. Lukewarm water is ideal. Mix everything thoroughly again to create the best fertilizer for cucumbers. They often stop growing at this time of year, when nighttime temperatures drop below 10 degrees Celsius. That is why it pays to fertilize them thoroughly.

Pay attention to the effective application of the mixture
That is where the catch lies. Before applying the mixture to the cucumbers, you should water them with lukewarm, settled water. It is the wet soil that ensures the mixture’s full effectiveness. Mix 1 liter of sourdough fertilizer with 10 liters of warm water. Each plant then receives one liter of the resulting mixture. The fertilizer is 100% effective and proven by years of use. You’ll see for yourself and enjoy a great harvest.
