Eggs are loaded with nutrients but eggshells are great too
The vast majority of people throw eggshells away and do not think twice about it. But that is a terrible waste because you can use eggshells in gardens or for your houseplants. They will love it.
Just like the eggs, eggshells contain plenty of minerals, such as calcium, iron or zinc and substances that are very important for proper development of plants.

Eggshells are rich in minerals that are extremely important for proper development of plants. Nutrients from eggshells get into soul easily. Calcium positively acts on certain chemicals and promotes development of root systems. Iron is a necessary part in photosynthesis and metabolic processes and zinc in general, maintains the overall health of plants and makes them more resistant to sudden temperature changes during growth.
Plants that love eggshells
However, eggshells are not suitable all plants, but many plants will benefit greatly. Calcium increases pH of the soil which affects growth and the overall development of plants. If you have plants that like acidic or neutral soil, you should definitely use eggshells. Peonies, lavender, tomatoes, cabbage or zucchini will love it. Let eggshells dry properly before use.

You may use eggshells in several ways. You can crush them and bury them in soil, or you can make flour out of them. That means grind them in a mortar or blender. But you can also make a liquid manure out of them. Put eggshells in a container and pour boiling water in. Let it sit for a few days, then drain and pour into a jug.
What else can you do with eggshells?
Eggshells are used to keep away slugs, but many people do not know about it. You can also put eggshells in your composter. They will provide plenty of nutrients and your plants will love it. Grind eggshells thoroughly and add them to compost and work it into the soil. Try one of the ways described above and you will never throw away eggshells again.
